EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS

Bob Bouwer, Faith Church Sr Pastor

In July of 2010, Bob will celebrate 20 years of serving as a Pastor at Faith Church. A pastor’s kid, Bob grew up with a desire to see people connect to the God he had known his whole life. Using his gifts of vision and evangelism, God used Bob as a catalyst for Faith’s U-Turn process. Bob and his wife Laurie have four children, a son-in-law and a grandchild due in October. He is an avid and loyal sports fan continuing to root for his beloved Cubs.

Jason DeVries, Executive Director

Jason grew up at Faith Church. In fact, it’s the only church he’s ever known. Having lived through Faith’s U-Turn process with the story to tell, he is excited to use his corporate training background to help God’s Kingdom expand. He has served on Faith’s staff since 2004 in a variety of roles, currently as the Campus Pastor for Faith’s Valparaiso, Indiana campus. Jason is scheduled to complete his M.Div. in June, 2011. He and his wife Kristin, who also grew up at Faith, have two daughters and a son and they live in Dyer.

Al Evers, President

Al has been a member of Faith Church for over 30 years. He has served at Faith in various roles as a volunteer and currently serves on Consistory as Vice President. Al’s work experience includes running a 3rd generation family business, serving as a regional director for a corporation and as owner of a real estate brokerage company. Recently Al has been called to serve Faith Church on a part time basis as the Executive Administrator. Al and his wife Teri live in Cedar Lake, have 4 grown sons, 4 grandkids with #5 on the way!

Carol Hiskes, Vice President

Carol has been given a passion for helping churches reach their Kingdom potential. After growing up at Faith Church, Carol and her husband Mark became members of another local church in Northwest Indiana. God called them back to Faith Church in 2003. Along with her role as Vice President of U-Turn Ministries, Carol also serves on the Revitalization Team for the Illiana Classis of the Reformed Church. Mark and Carol have four boys and a daughter-in-law. Carol and Mark and all four boys are all involved in the family garbage business and live in Schererville.

Patti Jabaay, Director of the Ravines

Patti also grew up at Faith Church and has served on staff for 8 years. She currently serves as the Director of the Ravines, a marriage retreat center in Lowell, Indiana, which is also a part of U-turn Ministries. She and her husband Jim live in St. John. They have two married sons, and one daughter in college. Their first grandchild is due in October.

Lance Baninga, Treasurer

Lance and his wife Nancy joined Faith Church in 1969. He has served as Deacon, and for many years Treasurer. Currently he plays in the Brass group on the Worship Team. Lance has been in the insurance business for over forty years. He and his son Steve own The Mitchell Corporation in Dyer. He is an adjunct professor at Trinity Christian College, teaching Insurance and Risk Management. Lance and Nancy have one grandchild and live in Schererville.
